The report that really made me take notice was one detailing a recent attack on a taxi in which the driver was supposedly shot at before making his getaway. In the article as well, the owner of the taxi company involved is quoted as saying that other drivers of his have been attacked whilst on the job, and also says “This is getting ridiculous. We are very concerned about what lengths criminals are prepared to go to.”
The severity of the attack is shocking, and with an article of the website the next day detailing how another driver was assaulted with a knife, I decided to see if I could shed any light on what the governing bodies in charge of the local taxi associations think about what can be done to try and stop this.
Considering also that in my relatively short time in Preston I have not noticed an enormous amount of stories on this subject, I’ll try and find out whether this a recent crisis or one that has going under peoples noses for some time, and quite how serious the problem is.
So, the next post on here will be a straight up news article, headline and all about this epidemic of crime against the regions cabbies.
